Did You Know Art Lives on Yeosu's Dolsan Coast?

Hi, I'm Sudal. Today I want to introduce a place on the Musulmok coast in Dolsan. It's called Yeosu Art Land, and hearing the name alone, you might think it's just a place to stay overnight. But it turns out to be packed with things to see, from trick art to a sculpture park to a Ferris wheel, almost like a theme park in its own right. I couldn't have guessed that just from the name either, but the more I heard about it, the more curious I got, so let's dig into it together today.

A Resort Where the Sea and Art Meet, on Dolsan's Musulmok

Yeosu Art Land is a lodging resort located on Musulmok-gil in Dolsan-eup, Yeosu. Musulmok is known as one of the spots in Yeosu with especially good sea views, and since the resort is built right there, the ocean scenery from the rooms is said to be one of its biggest draws. On top of that, it's not just an ordinary place to stay — it's filled with artistic touches throughout, so I've heard that plenty of people stop by just to look around during the day, not only guests staying overnight.

That said, I can't confidently tell you exactly how many room types there are or what the rates look like. Those details can vary by season or room type, so if you're planning to stay, it's probably best to check before you book. If this resort were just a place to stay, I probably wouldn't be going on about it this much. The real highlights turned out to be the art spaces inside.

Korea's Largest Themed 3D Trick Art, the 3D Museum

Inside Yeosu Art Land, there's a space called the 3D Museum, said to feature Korea's largest themed 3D trick art. Since trick art is painted flat but designed to look three-dimensional, the scene can look completely different depending on how you take the photo, so it sounds like a lot of fun for taking pictures. On top of that, there's reportedly a 60-meter media tunnel as well, and just walking through it sounds like an attraction in itself, given how sizable it is.

Past the 3D Museum, it apparently leads into a sculpture park. You get there by passing through a 150-meter rock tunnel, and the mood of that moment when the sculpture park scenery unfolds after the tunnel must feel pretty special. Enjoying the trick art with your eyes first, then taking in a calmer mood at the sculpture park afterward, sounds like a nice way to move through the space.

A Hand Reaching Toward the Sea, 'Midas' Hand'

Yeosu Art Land has a sculpture called 'Midas' Hand,' shaped like a hand reaching out toward the sea. True to its name, it seems to draw on the story of Midas, who turned everything he touched to gold, and the composition of a hand stretching out against the sea backdrop apparently makes for a great photo. Maybe that's why it's often mentioned as a popular photo spot online. I've only seen it in pictures myself, but the way the sculpture blends with the sea looked pretty striking. If you visit Yeosu Art Land, it might be worth leaving with at least one photo taken right here.

Looking Down Over Yeosu's Sea from 150 Meters Above Sea Level

Yeosu Art Land also has a Ferris wheel, I've heard. It's said to rise up to 150 meters above sea level, offering views of Yeosu's sea along the way, and it feels a little surprising that a view like that is available right inside the resort. On top of that, there are reportedly activities like a kart experience, a sky swing, and an ocean skywalk, and apparently people stop by during the day just to enjoy these, even if they're not staying overnight. That said, I don't know the exact operating hours or how to use each facility, so I'd recommend checking before your visit.
